We Are Here, 2019-ongoing

We Are Here is an ongoing investigation documenting the ways in which public visual culture represents nonhuman animals both globally and locally. With a main focus on the gentrified region known as the Inland Empire in Southern California, advertisements, logos, and attention seeking imagery are found ubiquitously through out the industrial/suburban land. By aiming to highlight animals visibility/invisibility through capitalist avenues, questions about where modern day animal imagery is heading towards as our ever growing disconnect with nonhuman animals continues, is a concern that I explore through photographic means.
